Durian

Durian

In Southeast Asia this is considered the king of fruits. The fruit is almost the size of a basketball, the color of the skin ranges from light green to dark green and is covered in sharp spines. The flesh of the fruit is custard-like and emits the strong, distinctive odor, which is regarded as either fragrant or overpowering and offensive. The taste of the flesh has been described as nutty and sweet.

Durian fruit contains a high amount of Sugar, Vitamin C, Potassium, and the Serotoninergic Amino Acid Tryptophan, and is a good source of Carbohydrates, Proteins, and Fats. It is recommended as a good source of raw fats by several raw food advocates, while others classify it as a High-Glycemic or High-Fat food, recommending to minimize its consumption.
